The grapefruit is a sub-tropical citrus tree grown for its fruit. The Grapefruit tree itself is a large, shiny gloss-leaved tree, about 10 meters (30 feet) high, with white flowers and large, pale yellow fruit.
Common Uses: Grapefruit is considered rich in antioxidants and is said to have a cleansing and toning effect on the skin. It can be used as part of an acne treatment and skin care products, however it may cause photosensitization. The recommended usage rate should not exceed 5% of the weight of the final product.
