Mixing Instructions
It is important to remember that bases with high percentages of butter will soften in warm weather and solidify in cool weather. This is a normal reaction for ingredients with moderate to low melting points. This base is best stored at room temperature of 70*F (21*C).
Mixing our Sugar Shea Body Polish at room temperature is recommended. During the winter months, if you have difficulty mixing due to hardening, we recommend warming the gallon container in a hot water bath to soften the butters. Direct heating is not recommended as it will melt the sugars.
Our Sugar Shea Body Polish can tolerate up to 2% Fragrance load. We recommend less than 1% for sensitive skin. Should you desire a heavier scent load to 2% fragrance. Be sure to suggest patch testing on your label. Patch Test meaning: Use scented product on sensitive body parts such as freshly shaven legs to test for irritation.
Can e mixed at room Temperature. Use microwave in short bursts, mixing in between each, if base becomes solid due to cold.
Add fragrance and oil base additives to bowl or mixing container.
Hand mixing with a spatula is recommended
